Good Girl
Something I've been thinking about doing for a while now - turning my drawings into something wearable. I was bought fabric pens for my birthday but actually decided to use sharpies instead because I have a wider range of colours so I'm hoping they'll be pretty permanent although I wouldn't mind a bit of fading to soften it slightly. I'm teeming with ideas for other ones, I want to do a rosette one like in the drawing at the top and a tartan one - turn all my drawings into t-shirts! If anyone has any advice on how to fix this better (I ironed it) or to make the line smoother etc I'd love to hear!

Sleek Sunset
Only had about 5 minutes to take photos in this light, it was a challenge! They remind me a bit of 'Club Silencio' David Lynch's Mullholland DriveX

Leather Badges
I've been really enjoying making these leather badges recently, so great to be able to make something relatively quickly and then to wear it! A really satisfying thing. X

Twists and a Rosette
Some photos of a twisty hairdo and a rosette I made a few weeks ago one evening very quickly out of scraps of fabric, floristry ribbon and a dried flower. For some reason I sewed a safety pin on to it but have never worn it, so decided to and I really like the idea of making these now... This object won't last a long time wearing, eventually it'll fall apart because it wasn't really constructed with wearing in mind, but I like that. I'll make them with seasonal flowers and scraps of textures I'm feeling inspired by at the moment and when they fall apart I'll make new ones depending on how I'm feeling and what I like at the time. I'm interested in combining the things I make with what I wear on a daily basis so here's to exploring that a lot more! X

Louise Slater
I've just sold the last of my amazing Louise Slater necklaces and I'm really sad to see them go! They're the most unusual and innovative pieces of modern jewellery I've come across, but I feel very happy to be able to send them off to good homes and also to have been able to have the chance to take inspiration from them whilst they were waiting for buyers. There's still a pair of Louise Slater earrings for sale here but her things have sold very well so I'd snap them up whilst you can! X

Sea living
So I've moved to the seaside! With my motley crew of stuffed animals (and dolly), Tolstoy the ginger cat and my favourite pesto chef, we've started to make ourselves a little home here. The weather is wild, but when the sun comes out it's just magical. Huge skies and dramatic sunsets ahoy! There are crocuses growing excitedly in the garden and I found a small patch of rhubarb near the apple trees. There are going to be a hell of a lot of photos from this house and environment I think, and I've been taken an inordinate amount of selfies with the lovely light in our bedroom in the mornings so there you go, enjoy what's coming! Put a feather in my cap
This green felt hat was a great find, only about £8 or something from a local vintage shop. The feathers were covered though with dark green netting so you could hardly see them. I removed the netting so it looks a lot nicer now, but I understand now why the netting was there, the feathers have a tendency to get very ruffled/fall out! So now I'm on the look out for some very fine netting to put over them so I don't moult everywhere!
The black off-the-shoulder top is soon to be put in my etsy shop, its so adorable and easy to wear!
On another note I've finally finished my commissioned illustration of my mum's 1930s bold print dress which you can see in the background of the photos (you can recap here) I've got to frame it still but it's done and I'm very happy with it! I'm thinking of doing some prints of it, what do you think, would anyone be interested?

Pinterest, lace and paisley love
Hi guys, I have a Pinterest now which I'm really enjoying using so why don't you follow me on there? Follow me here
I went to my lace-making group that meets once a month last night. Haven't been there since May perhaps, but the group are so welcoming and lovely and are very happy to teach me as a complete beginner! My work looks so odd besides their delicate closely patterned work, but I'm very excited to keep learning and apparently in 5/6 weeks of learning I'll be at the stage to make a fine bookmark! Here's what I produced last night...
Yes yes mine is the top one, cloth stitch and half-stitch I think! And the bottom is a found piece which I brought along to show them what I eventually wanted to achieve! The background is a vintage paisley wool Liberties scarf, which brings me onto wearing paisley scarves recently, we all love them right?
The red one is a really old silk one which I absolutely adore. Soft and big and cheaply bought and it has a B initial cross-stitched into the corner which makes it really special for me, B didn't want to lose her scarf!
It has a couple of holes near the corners now, but I'm going to make sure it lasts forever! My Liberties scarf has mainly been worn like a shawl by me recently since its been so chilly, and I like feeling like a granny wearing it this way!
