Etsy Outfit Construction

Swimming costume, wedges

Coat, platforms

Cheer skirt, platforms, underwear set
One of my favourite things to do is to have a really good delve on Etsy - favouriting things left, right and centre and constructing cute outfits in my head. There's such a huge range of stuff there, it's like one big never-ending vintage wardrobe but also I've been getting more into the modern stuff, especially lingerie, there are some really well-designed, fun and affordable shops out there. So this is where these outfit illustrations have come from. In a magical, silly world I would have a never-ending wardrobe full of all this but now I feel I can settle for these neat book-sized representations which don't take up much space in my life. I'm going to aim to do one of these illustrations a day because they're quick and fun and satisfying. It also helps me visualize my inspirations more clearly. I find I use Etsy for inspiration mainly, it's great to be able to easily find high-quality photos of intricate details, unusual materials and rare designs in one place.

I'd love to get into creating outfits on certain themes or for people looking for inspiration/with a specific budget so please get in contact if you're interested! X

Lilac Lurex

I'm wearing an amazing 1960s lilac lurex shirt-dress with one of my new leather badges.

I've been having fun playing around with lighting and trying to create atmosphere in recent photos. Wearing clothes can be like getting into character, which I love!

My favourite thing was to dress up in costumes as a child, best outfits were: an old red velvet curtain as a cape (naturally); wearing old pieces of fabric draped around me toga/angel style (I still have a piece of gold material I used to wear wrapped across my body like a sash); a Jasmine from Aladdin costume (the outfits in the film were way better, my favourite outfit of hers being when she was a slave to Jafar) and my ballet-wear/costumes (I remember in particular my favourite item was a sheer black wrap-around skirt which secured with velcro, I still feel really sad I don't have it anymore! Where do these things disappear to?!). But I haven't really spent much time just messing around with clothes in quite a while! Where's the fun gone y'know?!

So I'm aiming to get a bit more playful again - off I go to the dressing up box! X

Early Mornings

Some photos I took before work the other day. Dressing myself has become one of my most important creative outlets recently so I like to document this whenever possible. X

Outfit: Bright!

I'm taking too long over doing a post which lovely Tessie has put me up to, so I'll post this in the meantime. My boobs look a bit too much here, accident of fabric y'know but maybe it works more with the pin-up picture now?! I really like bright colours, gossh yes! X

Outfit: Babydoll Days

This is a really nice style of dress to wear now it's starting to get warm again. I'm wearing it with tights and cycling shorts for modesty!  Roses are starting to come out now and my chilli plant is growing it's first chilli, I'm very excited! Hope you're all having a good weekend through the sunshine and showers! X
